Brac has its own airport, which is well connected with various European cities by both regular and charter lines
which enables a fast and convenient journey to Bol. Bol is only 15 km away from the international tourist and sports airport "Brac".
The island is positioned just across Split, the biggest city on the Croatian Adriatic – which international airport is well connected with
most European centers. Once you arrive to Split, you can choose one of the sea transports to the town Bol, by catamaran or ferry.
The national airline company, Croatia Airlines, is flying to and from Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Istanbul,
Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Sarajevo, Skopje, Vienna, Zurich, Tel Aviv, and, seasonally, to Manchester.
The island has several car ferry and fast catamaran ferry connections with Croatian mainland as well as with neighbouring islands.
Fast coastal line connects the island Brac to Rijeka, Split, Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik.
Travelling to the island Brac by ferry is the cheapest and the fastest way. This island is only 7 nautical miles from Split.
The closest ferry port, on the island’s north coast, is at Supetar, almost directly opposite Split. It takes just over an hour to make the crossing.
You can also reach Bol, directly from Split, travelling by catamaran or hydrofoil boat.
In case the ferries from Split to Brac are too crowded, a good alternative is to drive to Makarska, 65 km south of Split,
the capital of Makarska Riviera. From there, you can use a car ferry from Makarska to Sumartin. The ferry-port in Sumartin,
a small fishermen village connects a part of the island with the mainland. The duration of the crossing is 60 minutes and this ferry
takes cars and passengers.
CAR, BUS AND TRAIN
Generally, if you are travelling by car, bus or train, you need to reach Split or Makarska in central Dalmatia,
where you can take a ferry or catamaran to Brac.
If you are coming from the northern side, you have a 380km long path from the capital of Croatia - Zagreb, to Split:
Zagreb – Karlovac – Plitvice – Knin – Sinj – Split.
If you are coming from the town of Rijeka, you will have to take the following path to Split:
Rijeka – Zadar – Sibenik – Split.
Also, you have to take into account the frequency of departures of catamarans and ferries:
The out-of-season ferry from Split to Supetar sails 9 times a day and from Makarska to Sumartin 3
times. During the summer season (July, August), the ferry from Split to Supetar sails 14 times a day and from Makarska to Sumartin 4 - 5 times.
